BCC Cares · For pastors and church leaders
When you send someone for counseling,
send someone with them.
Counseling works best when someone from the person’s own church walks the season with them. We will train those people for you, at no cost, and stay in the conversation the whole way.
What usually happens after a referral
You do the hard part — you notice, you care, you get them help. Then the trail goes quiet.
People fall through the cracks
You make the referral and hear nothing back. Whether they went, whether it helped, whether they stopped — you find out months later, or not at all.
The church loses the thread
Counseling becomes a separate compartment of their life. The friendship, prayer and discipleship that should surround it never gets connected to it.
Willing leaders burn out
The same two or three people carry everyone. Without training or a plan, caring well starts to cost more than they have to give.
Counseling should support the church, not replace it.
The fix is usually one person
A Care Partner is one person from your church — a pastor, elder, deacon, group leader, lay counselor or trusted friend — who walks alongside someone receiving counseling at BCC.
They stay connected
Someone from your congregation knows what season this person is in, and keeps praying, checking in and including them.
They are not the counselor
The counseling itself is done by a BCC counselor. The Care Partner is looped in — bringing friendship, presence and follow-through, the part a counselor cannot do.
They have somewhere to turn
Care Partners get someone at BCC to ask when they are unsure what to do next, plus practical tools for the conversations in between.
We train them, free.
The Care Partner Starter Pathway takes an evening or two and requires no counseling background. It comes with a free BCC Cares account — there is nothing for your church to buy.
How the partnership works
Three steps, and the first one costs nothing but a conversation with a few of your people.
Name a few people
Think of three or four in your church who already care well — the ones people go to anyway. They do not need credentials.
They complete the pathway
Each creates a free Care Partner account and works through the four steps at their own pace.
Send one with every referral
When you refer someone to BCC, pair them with a trained Care Partner from your church. Their care stays connected to the people who will know them long after counseling ends.
When you are ready for more
Care Partners are the on-ramp. Two deeper relationships are available whenever your church wants them.
